Moving to Europe from New Zealand

Europe is home to over 40 countries, each with unique cultures, languages, and traditions. All of these can be explored just by crossing a border. New Zealand has bi-lateral agreements with many European countries. This allows New Zealanders to visit these countries for up to 90 days without needing a European visa.  The Schengen Area also supports easy travel between its 29 European member countries.

Europeans are known for their lively and varied lifestyles, as well as being open and friendly. European countries prioritise a good work-life balance for their residents and invest significantly in healthcare. Efficient public transport across Europe makes travelling to new countries easy. The natural beauty of these countries is a large reason why many of them are also tourist destinations. Skiing in the Alps, visiting famous landmarks such as the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and participating in festivals like the Carnival of Venice are all possible. 

Europe has an extensive history that goes back thousands of years. There are numerous ruins and buildings from ancient times, including the Colosseum in Rome and the Carnac Stones in France. So, if you love history or travelling, there are plenty of amazing places to see.  

While a few countries still use their own currency, the Euro is widely used in many countries throughout Europe. This makes travel even easier, as you won’t need to worry about currency exchanges.
