WE LOVE ‘GIVING BACK’!
It was an honour and a privilege to play a part in sponsoring the Old Government Buildings Ngā Rama Wherikoriko Pō me Te Mākete Kirihimete Night Lights and Christmas Market giving back to the Wellington community.
Held on the grounds of Old Government Building opposite The Beehive on Lampton Quay the event delivered a unique authentic northern hemisphere Christmas experience. Old Government Building is a heritage building situated in the heart of Wellington CBD and provides a unique visual insight into the nation’s political and social history and cultural values.
With a reduction in visitors to the capital Heritage New Zealand recognised the impact of what has been a particularly difficult year for the community and local businesses in the capital and saw the need to invest time and energy to provide the city with an uplifting festive community event to help strengthen local businesses. Crown Workspace were honoured to support this community event.
Festive lighting was placed across the entire front of the Old Government Building and surrounding kauri trees. With more than 40 creative and festive stalls with food and beverages on offer and a variety of activities including Santa’s grotto, kids entertainment and carol singers the event attracted over 5,000 people over three nights from the 18th – 20th December.
“Dear Darryl
On behalf of Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga we would like to thank you & Crown Workspace for your strong financial contribution to the Night Lights & Christmas Market event.
The event came to light as a community event after a particularly difficult year and was aimed at creating a Christmas event for all the family in a unique and historical setting.
As the first event of its kind, we wanted to create a community event, gauge public response, and get a feel for how best to communicate the event and its message as a future community event, hosted by Heritage New Zealand, while endorsing the relevance and importance of our national heritage at the same time.
With heartfelt thanks Ronnie Pace – Property Lead | Central Regional Office | Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga“
